In the Get Back project, we design interactive AI robots that can generate live music during jam sessions and communicate with fellow human musicians in a natural, intuitive and physical way.
 
In the past few years, many generative AI music tools have been brought to market. Such as BandLab Songstarter, AIVA or Suno.

Unfortunately, if you want to play with these tools as a musician, you always need a computer, keyboard and mouse.  But what if you don’t want to use a keyboard or a mouse, but a guitar, piano or drum kit instead?

In the get back projects we investigate new forms of interaction between humans and computers and build physical prototypes with which human musicians can play together.
