Improvising You Sensor Kit

Improvising You Sensor Kit

Improvising You Sensor Kit

Open-source firmware and utilities for the wearable sensor kits built for Improvising You, an interactive art-science music performance by Rafaele Andrade. Eight audience members wear handheld devices that capture their live heart rate (ECG) and brain waves (EEG); this biological data is streamed over the network and used as a live score for Andrade's self-made instrument Knurl, and to drive a real-time LED visual system.

The sensor kits were developed by Sjoerd Mol together with Superposition. This repository contains the part we authored: the ESP32 sensor firmware and two PC-side Processing utilities for filtering and inspecting the data. Processing software is used for debug purpose only. Filtering is done in the custom PC software, that can be fourd here.
